Rolling is a skill anyone can get good at. With the right setup and a few habits, every joint you roll will burn even and look clean. Here is how Potent Roots does it.

Start with the right grind

A medium, even grind packs best. Too fine and the joint gets tight and hard to pull. Too chunky and it burns unevenly.

Use a filter tip

A rolled tip, sometimes called a crutch, gives the joint structure, keeps flower out of your mouth and makes it easier to finish.

Shape before you seal

With the tip on one end, spread flower evenly along the paper. Pinch and roll the paper back and forth between your fingers to shape it into a tight, even cylinder before you tuck.

Tuck and roll

Tuck the edge of the paper without glue around the flower, then roll upward and lick the glue strip. Seal from the tip side toward the open end.

Pack the end

Use a pen or a poker to gently pack the flower down from the open end, then twist the tip closed.

Light it evenly

Rotate the joint while you toast the end instead of torching one side. An even light prevents canoeing.
