Some people follow the culture. Flow187 builds it. Born and raised in Queens, New York, the rapper, entrepreneur and founder of Potent Roots has spent his career proving that an independent artist can own the whole lane: the music, the brand, the business and the movement behind it.
In music, Flow187 carved out a sound all his own with the mixtapes Lamborghini Dreams, Pot Culture and The Wave, plus singles including “So Potent” and “Palm Trees.” Instead of waiting on the old gatekeepers, he built his own machine: his label Flow 187 Music Group, joint ventures with independent powerhouses Create Music Group and EMPIRE Distribution, and the film company Hood Rich Films.
He saw early what the rest of the industry is only now catching up to: hip-hop and cannabis grow from the same roots. So he fused them. Potent Roots became a luxury cannabis brand, a streetwear and accessories line, and a marketing company that puts other cannabis brands in front of the audience that matters, with shout-outs from legends of the game along the way.
Beyond business, Flow187 is the author of the motivational book Falling Isn’t Failing, a playbook for turning setbacks into comebacks, and he takes that message straight to young people about setting goals and pushing through. That mindset is stamped on everything Potent Roots touches: premium quality, a brand people are proud to rep, and a lane for others to grow with it.
